Product Description

The latest craze around blockchain technology has caught the eyes of artists and investors, alike. The new(ish) application, known as non-fungible tokens (or "NFTs" for short), creates certified digital assets that are linked to specific creative works and recorded on a distributed ledger. This application creates digital assets that can be bought and sold using online marketplaces. NFTs marketplaces have exploded recently, with some NFT transactions closing for millions of dollars. But, this new form of "property" raises an important question: what exactly does a NFT holder own and how do its rights interact with traditional forms of intellectual property? This presentation will address this question and other fascinating topics around NFTs and how they fit in the legal system. So, whether you want to advise clients on this new technology, invest yourself, or just learn about what a Cryptokitty is, join us and the NOBA community for a fun talk on NFTs and IP law.
